The Journey: Adapting as the World Changes

Before I was steering drones and directing video, my life was defined by a different kind of drive. I started my professional life on the field, playing minor league baseball as a contracted player in the San Francisco Giants organization.

When I traded the glove for a camera, I completed my BA at CSU Northridge, majoring in Speech Communication with an emphasis in Mass Communication (Radio, TV, Film, and Journalism).

Let’s be honest: The media landscape back then looked entirely different than it does today. Analog turned to digital, broadcasting moved to the palm of our hands, and the algorithms changed the game. But I didn't get left behind—I leaned in.

I thought sports journalism was my destiny, but a gig coaching high school baseball led to a rewarding teaching career. I spent 13 years teaching English, but in the early 2000s, I jumped at the chance to teach journalism. That single choice pivoted my entire world into video production and digital media.

For the past two decades, I’ve evolved alongside the technology. My philosophy is simple: If you aren't always learning and evolving, you're dying. I didn't just teach the next generation of creators—helping countless students launch successful media businesses of their own—I stayed on the cutting edge myself.
